About Testbereit
Testbereit is an unofficial study app and website for the German citizenship test (Einbürgerungstest, officially “Leben in Deutschland”). It helps people learn the official questions, understand them in their own language and practise under real test conditions.
What Testbereit is
- An iPhone app, Testbereit on the App Store, released on 20 October 2026. It is free to download; Premium is an optional in-app purchase for unlimited translations and mock exams.
- A free website with a 33-question practice test, all catalog questions with answers and study guides in English and German, plus pages in Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Persian and French.
- Built for people who are preparing for naturalisation, especially those whose first language is not German. The test is only in German, so Testbereit keeps the German original in view and shows a translation underneath.
Where the questions and answers come from
- Every question and answer choice comes from the official catalog in Anlage 1 of the Einbürgerungstestverordnung (EinbTestV): 300 general questions and 10 for each of the 16 Bundesländer, including the catalog's images.
- The official catalog does not mark the correct answers. Testbereit checked every answer against the BAMF Online-Testcenter, most recently on 21 June 2026.
- Translations and short explanations are study aids in English, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Persian and French. Only the German original counts in the test.
- When the official catalog changes, the app and the website are updated. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.

What Testbereit is not
Testbereit is not an official service. It is not affiliated with BAMF, the BMI, any German state authority or any other government agency. It does not run, certify or grade the test, and no app or website can guarantee that you pass. For registration and requirements, ask a test centre or your naturalisation authority (Einbürgerungsbehörde).

No account, no ads, no tracking. Study progress stays on your iPhone, and the web practice test stays in your browser. Details in the privacy policy.
